Starting from the evident disillusionment of young Italians in terms of politics, well demonstrated by the low turnout, the project developed educational paths for young people aged between 17 and 21 with the overall objective of promoting a more informed and aware approach to political engagement and, consequently, greater involvement given the 2024 European elections, so that young people take a more active role as Italian and European citizens. The project was focused on 6 regions (Piedmont, Veneto, Campania, Sicily, Apulia and Calabria). It was based on the methods of Non-Formal Education, placing young people and their opinions at the centre and promoting constructive dialogue on a range of topics that impact civic and political activation. The project addressed issues such as the lack of knowledge of electoral systems and procedures, scepticism towards political parties, and the difficulty in discerning reliable sources of information.

The contents of this manifesto were drafted by a group of 44 people during the project's international event held in Strasbourg during the January 2024 plenary session. We are aged between 18 and 35 and come from Turin, Verona, Rome, Bari, Salerno, Syracuse, Palermo, Reggio Calabria, Caserta.
Among the key activities that made it possible to explore the opinions, experiences and visions of young people in more detail is the research, led by the Interregional Coordination Group composed of young people and focused on the production, dissemination and analysis of a quantitative/qualitative questionnaire. This report presents the main findings of the research process that provide an interesting insight into political participation in the target regions.
